Skipit

Mohamed Wahib Abkari

by Mohamed Wahib Abkari · S1

A free, open-source Chrome extension that automatically skips nudity, sex, and gore on Netflix. Every skip is crowdsourced and verified by real users.

The best existing solution for skipping inappropriate scenes on Netflix cost $99.99 a year. Wahib thought that was absurd, so he built his own.

Skipit is a Chrome extension that sits on top of Netflix and automatically skips the scenes you don't want to watch. It auto-detects what you're watching, skips based on your personal preferences, and highlights skip segments directly on the Netflix timeline so you always know what's coming.

Skipit on the Netflix timeline

The part that makes it work: every skip is crowdsourced. Real users mark scene start and end points with two clicks while watching. Those timestamps go through community verification — other users upvote for accuracy — and only confirmed skips reach everyone else. Precise to within a second.

Marking and verifying a scene

By the time Wahib presented it at ALTs Morocco, it already had 800+ verified skips across 80+ titles — Breaking Bad (104 skips), Dark (106 skips), Bridgerton (51 skips), The Queen's Gambit, Stranger Things, Money Heist, and more. The room signed up for the waitlist on the spot.

It doesn't track your viewing history or collect personal data. It uses Netflix's own player controls to skip. And it's completely free, open source, with Amazon Prime Video support on the roadmap.
